Olympic champion in speed skating, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova ridiculed the confrontation between the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA) and the USA. Her words are cited by TASS.

Previously, WADA withdrew a lawsuit against the head of the US anti -doping agency (USADA) TRAVIS Tigert about slander. The reason for the trial was the criticism of WADA actions on the part of the United States in the case of 23 Chinese swimmers.
In April 2024, it became known that back in January 2021, the prohibited trimetazidine was discovered in the samples of 23 Chinese swimmers. In China, they then stated that the traces of the drug were found in the hotel kitchen in which athletes stopped. WADA considered that there is no evidence indicating doping use, so the swimmers were admitted to the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
