Yaroshenko: International removal financially beneficial for some biathletes of the Russian Federation
Biathlon’s two -time world champion Dmitry Yaroshenko spoke about the advantages of removal from international tournaments for Russians. His words are given by TASS.
According to the former athlete, it is financially profitable for some biathlonists. “There are now really good prize starts at domestic starts, while the world Cup will not have the opportunity to earn such money,” Yaroshenko said.
The ex-biathlonist added that now not all Russian athletes will be competitive in the international arena. “At the World Cup, it will be objectively very difficult for some to fight for the places for which the prize are laid,” he emphasized.
Russians and Belarusians do not participate in international competitions by decision of the International Biathlon Union (IBU). The order entered into force in March of 2022 and will act until further notice.
