Australia coach of socialists: 50 percent of skiers oppose the admission of Russians
The head coach of the Australian team in skiing, Alexei Sotskov, called the number of skiers who opposed the return of Russians to international tournaments. His words are given by the “championship”.
Sotskov said that in January 2025, the International Business and Snowboard Federation (FIS) conducted a survey on this topic. As a result, it was found that 50 percent of athletes opposed the admission of Russians, 20 percent for, and another 30 percent invited the Russians to speak only under a neutral flag and after checks.
Earlier, the head of FIS, Johan Eliash, made the return of Russians to international tournaments. In his opinion, athletes should not be used for political purposes.
The restrictions on the performance of Russians by FIS were imposed in March 2022. Since that moment, representatives of Russia have been suspended from international tournaments.
