Carlsen put up for auction that caused disqualification from the World Cup Jeans

Carlsen will sell jeans, which caused its disqualification with the World Cup on Rapid

The Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Karlsen decided to sell jeans, which caused his disqualification from the 2024 Rapid Championship. He reported this on Instagram (prohibited social network in Russia; belongs to META, recognized as an extremist organization and prohibited in the Russian Federation).

Carlsen put them up for auction. “Forbidden jeans can now become yours. An offer that I never thought I would write. But here we are, ”he said.

In December, Karlsen shot a tournament in New York for violating the dress code. The athlete came to the game in jeans, he was a warning and appointed a fine, but he refused to change clothes during the meeting. After the disqualification, the Norwegian cursed at the International Chess Federation (FIDE), admitting that he was extremely tired of the organization.

The dress code softened to the world of Fide. “Small elegant deviations are allowed, in particular, suitable jeans combined with a jacket,” explained the head of the organization Arkady Dvorkovich.
