IBU head Dalin expressed hope for the return of Russians and Belarusians

The President of the International Union of Biathlonists (IBU) Swede Olla Dalin spoke about the return of Russians and Belarusians. His comment is given by NRK.

Dalin said that at the moment this issue is not worth it. “But we hope that the conflict will end soon, because Russia and Belarus are very important for biathlon,” Ibu said.

Russians and Belarusians do not participate in international competitions by decision of IBU. The order entered into force in March of 2022 and will act until further notice.

Earlier, the Olympic champion in skating sports, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova spoke about the influence of negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of the United States Donald Trump on the removal of domestic athletes. According to her, it is worth expecting a quick lifting of sanctions from Russian sports.
