Hungary has achieved the exclusion of the Russian Olympic Committee (OKR) and two clubs of the Russian Premier League (RPL) from the 16th package of European Union sanctions (EU). This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Peter Siyyarto on Facebook (prohibited social network in Russia; belongs to META Corporation, which is recognized in the Russian Federation of extremist and prohibited).
“We have prevented the introduction of sanctions against 27 persons and organizations,” Siyyarto said. According to him, having blocked this decision, the Hungarian government saved the remnants of the honor of the European Union.
Earlier, the Olympic champion in skating sports, State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova spoke about the influence of negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of the United States Donald Trump on the removal of domestic athletes.
