FIS: Bolshunov’s participation in the race in Italy does not appear for admission to tournaments
The International Snow Sports and Snowboard Federation (FIS) responded to the participation of Russian Alexander Bolshunov in the International Sudtirol Moonlight race in Italy. It is reported by TASS.
FIS said that this event is not regulated by the rules and regulations of the federation, so it cannot affect Bolshunov’s admission to tournaments. “It was a private event, not a competition authorized by FIS,” they emphasized.
On February 13, Bolshunov became the winner of the International Sudtirol MoonLight International Race for 30 kilometers in the classic style. These are the first international competitions for the athlete over the past three years.
The restrictions on the performance of Russians by FIS were imposed in March 2022. Since that moment, representatives of Russia have been suspended from international tournaments.
