It seems that coach Paulo Sousa’s announcement for Flamengo may take a while to happen. That’s because, according to the Polish website Interia Sports, the local federation is ready for a legal battle against the Cariocas.
The publication stated that the organization will resort to FIFA if Flamengo makes the official announcement of the coach before the Portuguese match with the Poles.
Cezary Kulesza, president of the Polish federation, criticized the commander for the decision to accept the red-black proposal.
“Today I was informed by Paulo Sousa that he intended to terminate the contract with the Polish federation by mutual agreement because of an offer from another club. This is extremely irresponsible behavior, inconsistent with the coach’s previous statements. Therefore, I firmly refused.” he said.
The Rio press has reported that Paulo Sousa has already signed a two-year contract with Flamengo. The Portuguese technician will pay the termination fine to terminate his contract.
