In Russia, they spoke about the choice of skaters for Olympic qualifications

The FFFKR said that the choice of skaters for Olympic qualifications depends on ISU

The General Director of the Figure Skating Federation of Russia (FFKKR) Alexander Kogan spoke about the choice of skaters for the Olympic qualifications of 2026 games in Italy. His words are given in the Telegram channel of journalist Dmitry Kuznetsov.

Kogan said that the decision will be announced when Russia receives information from the International Skating Union (ISU). “When exactly this will happen, it does not depend on us,” he emphasized.

Earlier it became known that a number of countries will oppose the admission of Russian skaters for selection for the Olympic Games-2026. The President of the Figure Skating Federation of Norway Mona Adolfsen called the ISU decision sad.

In December 2024, ISU announced the admission of Russians for the selection for games-2026, which will be held in the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina-D’Ampezzo. In qualification competitions, they will be able to take part in one athlete or pair in each discipline in neutral status.
