Guberniev about the difference between doping dopes: Sinner is greatly defended, but Valieva is not
Commentator Dmitry Guberniev compared the doping of the first racket of the world of Italian Yannik Sinner and the Russian skater Kamila Valieva. His comment is given by metaratings.ru.
According to Gubernyev, Sinner defends himself great, providing for all protection options, but Valieva is not. He did not see double standards in this, noting the importance of competent building the defense line.
“This is still an adversarial process: accusation against defense. Therefore, Sinner can be envied here. Of course, he is a dopingist, but his team brilliantly works in the legal field, in the media field, in the off -lineing field, ”the journalist noted. Earlier, representatives of the World Anti -Doping Agency (WADA) also stated that these two affairs are not comparable.
On February 15, WADA reported that it concluded an agreement on the settlement of Sinner’s case, which failed two doping tests in March 2024, but explained that the prohibited substance fell into his body due to the processing of the wound with a spray. The first racket of the world received removal from February 9 to May 4, 2025, and WADA revoked an appeal to the sports arbitration court (CAS).
In January 2024, CAS disqualified Valiev for four years. In the sample of the skater from December 2021, traces of the prohibited drug Trimetazidin were discovered. She was deprived of the gold medals of the European Championship, the Russian Championship and the Command Tournament of the Olympic Games-2022 (together with the entire national team).
