Kabaeva: Irina Wiener’s departure is not just the end of the era, it is the loss of an entire era
The Olympic champion in rhythmic gymnastics Alina Kabaeva appreciated the decision of Irina Winer to leave the post of head coach of the Russian national team. Her words are given in the Telegram channel of the Academy “Heavenly Grace”.
“Irina Wiener’s departure is not just the end of the era, it is the loss of an entire era in rhythmic gymnastics. Over the years, she not only raised outstanding champions, but also created a unique school, which became a model for imitation around the world, ”Kabaeva said. She noted that the talent, wisdom and devotion of Winer inspired many athletes.
Kabaeva called the coach a symbol of strength, grace and desire for perfection. According to her, Winer’s achievements will forever remain in history.
Wiener announced the departure from the Russian team earlier on February 12. She added that she would transfer the gained experience to trainers engaged in the preparation of future generations of stars.
Wiener served as the head coach of the Russian national rhythmic gymnastics team since 2001. In 2008, she headed the All-Russian Federation of rhythmic gymnastics (VFHG).
