The failed gender test boxer Iman Helif decided to sue IBA

The Algerian boxing Iman Helif, who failed the gender test, decided to sue the Boxing International Association (IBA). She reported this on her Instagram (prohibited social network in Russia; belongs to META, recognized as an extremist organization and prohibited in the Russian Federation).

The athlete was outraged by the IBA decision to file a complaint with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for admission to games-2024 in Paris. “The perpetrators in these actions should be held accountable, and we will attach all available legal funds to ensure the triumph of justice,” Helif said.

In 2023, Iba removed Helif during the World Cup because of a failure gender test. However, the IOC allowed her to women’s competitions in 2024, which caused criticism among the public.

At the games in Paris, Helif won gold in the weight category up to 66 kilograms. After that, IBA President Umar Kremlin called on the head of the IOC Thomas Bach to apologize on the knees for the participation of Algeria in the competition.
