Earlier, two -time Olympic champion in Biathlon Dmitry Vasiliev opposed the idea of ​​creating same -sex duets in figure skating. “Since the Western Socialist Socialists began to perform in same-sex duets, I think they will continue to perform with cats and dogs,” he thought.

In 2022, the Canadian figure skating federation allowed skaters of the same floor to form sports couples and dance duets at national tournaments. In competitions under the auspices of the International Union of Skate, such duets do not take part. Olympic champions – Frenchwoman Gabriela Papadakis and American Madison Hubbell acted like a female duet at the Art on Ice Gala show in Zurich.
