Russian football player Ozduev was at risk of imprisonment in Greece
The Russian football player Paoka from Thessaloniki Magomed Ozdoeva faces a prison in Greece. The reason is a skirmish with the fans of the opponent, the Athenian Aek, in the parking lot after the defeat in the first quarterfinals of the Greece Cup.
Why did the fight happen, and how active was Ozdoyev’s participation?
On December 19, 2024, the first quarterfinal match of the Greece Cup between Aek and Paok was held in Athens. Ak won with a score of 1: 0. The relationship of fans of these clubs can be described as hostile. This hostility, multiplied by Greek temperament, always makes the matches of the teams explosive. This time, when Paoka’s bus left the stadium, Ayk fans showed T -shirts of their 2019 sample club. It was a reference to the 2018 season, when Aek became the champion of Greece, and the leadership and fans of Paoka believed that the title was stolen from them by judges.
The head coach of Paoka Rezvan Lucescu jumped out of the bus and entered into a skirmish with provoking fans. Several players connected – Tomash Kendzer, Tyson, Acts Lovren, who had previously played for Zenit, and Ozdoev. As some Greek media describe the further development of events, a mass brawl began. But from the video from the scene, we can conclude that football players and fans were flinter, but employees of the Greek police did not burn out a fight.

What threatens Paok players who participated in a fight?
Initially, it became known that the head coach of Paoka Lucescu and his assistants, who left the bus first, disqualified for four months and fined 15 thousand euros, and sanctions were also applied to the club, imposing a fine of 30 thousand euros. Later, information appeared that four football players, including Ozdoev, received a ten -match disqualification and threat of criminal prosecution. The most stringent measure of punishment in this case is called three months of prison, but in the Greek media do not believe that the situation will accept such a turn. Rather, it is only about an increase in purely football disqualification.
It is noteworthy that the problems of the players began a few matches after the incident. Before that, they managed to go on a field in several meetings, including playing a draw in a response fight with Aek and fly out of the Greece Cup. PAOK leaders states that the club will appeal all decisions on disqualification and achieve their cancellation or at least reduction.
The disciplinary committee, becoming a model of personal attacks, is trying to destroy PAOK, removing the head coach from participating in matches almost until the end of the season. This punishment is even closely comparable to the punishments of our rivals for beating police officers or demonstrating genitals in the stands
PAOK appeal to the disciplinary committee
According to the latest data, the criminal case was nevertheless instituted, but not against individual players, but against Paok as a whole. The club’s statement states that additional disciplinary sanctions will not be applied to the Ozdoev and the rest of those who participated in the fight. Note that another Russian Fedor Chalov plays in Paok. But he did not take part in the brawl.

How did Ozdoev himself react to what happened?
The situation was first commented by Ozdoev himself. “In the underground parking, when leaving the stadium, fans of Aek were waiting for us. They waved banners and showed the middle fingers. Our bus stopped. Lucescu came out of it, and behind him the whole team. However, there was no fight, no one beat anyone. The story is sucked out of the finger, ”the football player said. He also added that it all started with the fact that after the game of Paoka locker room, President Ayk Evangelos Aslanidis went and began to speak offendously with the opponent coach.
Ozdoev has been playing in Greece since August 2023. He moved to PAOK from the Turkish club Fatikh Karagyumryuk. Earlier, the midfielder played for the teams of the Russian Premier League Lokomotiv, Rubin, Terek and Zenit. In Ozdoyev, the base of the base can be called the base, unlike Chalov, who often comes out only to replace. This season, the 32-year-old Ozdoev held 33 matches in all tournaments as part of the club, marked by two goals and two productive programs.
