The three -time Olympic champion in skiing Alexander Bolshunov will take part in the Sudtirol MoonLight Classic race, which will be held in Italy. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the tournament.

The athlete will perform in the race for 30 kilometers. Sudtirol MoonLight Classic is not part of the competition of the competitions of the International Federation of Sports and Snowboard (FIS), which removed Russians in February 2022.

Earlier, the Norwegian journalist NRK Jan Peter Saltedt explained the decision of Bolshunov to go to Europe. According to the reporter, the athlete was tired of the head of the Russian skiing federation Elena Vyalbe.

The departure of Bolshunov to Europe for training according to the individual plan became known on January 30. The senior coach of the Russian national team Yuri Borodavko noted that the trip was agreed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and CSKA.
