Arshavin: I think that Russia will not be allowed to international tournaments until 2028
Former Russian national team footballer Andrei Arshavin suggested the duration of the international isolation of domestic sports. His words are given by TASS.
“I think that until 2028 there will be no tolerances. As for European cups, the whole situation will not end yet, football will not be allowed anywhere, ”he said. Arshavin added that the level of football remained about the same as before the isolation.
Earlier, Director of the Department of National Associations of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Zoran Lakovich expressed hope for relieving sanctions from Russian sports in 2025. He noted that he understands the feelings of Russians.
Since March 2022, Russian teams and clubs have not been participating in the draws of international tournaments due to sanctions by the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA. The teams only conduct comradely matches.
