But they are not allowed to compete with rivals from other countries, they are deprived of a dream that is so important for every athlete, ”he said, adding that the FHR will continue to defend the interests of Russian sports.

On February 4, IIHF decided to prevent the Russian team for the 2026 World Cup for security reasons. At the same time, the decision to speak the team at the Olympic Games-2026 will be made after the election of the President of the International Olympic Committee in March 2025.

Russian hockey players have not been participating in international tournaments since the end of February 2022. The last major competition for the Russians was the Olympic Games – 2022, where the team won silver medals.
