Icelandic coach Hergeirson about the removal of Russians: I am not at all sorry
The former coach of the Norwegian Norwegian Gandball Torir Hergeyrson supported the isolation of Russian sports. His words are given by Dagbladet.
In his opinion, the Russians themselves are to blame for the fact that their team, which Hergeirsson called good, does not take part in tournaments. “I am not at all sorry at all. They just need to start to behave well, and then they will return. I believe that their ban is absolutely fair, ”said the Icelandic specialist.
Earlier, the head of the International Snow Sports and Snowboard Federation and presidential candidate of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Johan Eliash advocated the return of Russian and Belarusian athletes to world tournaments in neutral status. Another contender for the post of head of the IOC, the head of the Olympic Committee of Jordan, Prince Faisal Al-Hussain also made the removal of restrictions from Russian sports.
Since the end of February 2022, most Russian athletes have been suspended from international tournaments. Some athletes got the opportunity to perform on the world arena in neutral status, some of the Russians changed citizenship and represents other countries.
