Dvorkovich said he was not going to resign from the post of President Fide
The President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Arkady Dvorkovich responded to the call of the sixteenth world chess champion Magnus Karlsen to leave the president of the organization. His words are given by Match TV.
Dvorkovich said he was not going to resign. “It seems to me that he simply incorrectly interprets some discussions that were,” he added.
Earlier, Carlsen called on Dvorkovich to resign. According to him, he must leave a post due to the lack of an agreement between the federation and organizers of Freestyle Chess tournaments regarding the holding of the world championships.
50-year-old Dvorkovich has been led by the federation since the fall of 2018. He replaced the other representative of Russia Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, who has been the president of FIDE since 1995.
