World Aquatics has expanded the list of Russian neutral status to 50
The International Swimming Federation expanded the list of Russians admitted to the competition under the auspices of the organization in neutral status. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the organization.
In the updated list of Russian athletes who received neutral status, 19 athletes have been added. Among them, the bronze medalist of the Olympic Games in Jumping in the water Alexander Bondar. In total, at the moment, 50 Russians have been allowed before the competition.
Earlier, several Russian swimmers who boycotted the 2024 Olympics in Paris decided to obtain a neutral status. Among them is two -time Olympic champion Evgeny Rylov.
World Aquatics made Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in tournaments in neutral status. After that, at the end of 2024, the Russians went to the World Cup in short water, where they took second place in the medal standings. They won ten medals – six gold and four silver.
