Dyukov called the Lakovich Returning Return from UEFA to the responsible
The head of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov appreciated the words of the director of the Department of National Associations of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Zoran Lakovich about the return of Russia. He is quoted by the “Championship”.
Dyukov called Lakovich a responsible person. “If he goes to the rostrum and says such words … He would be an irresponsible person, would not work in UEFA in such a serious position,” he said.
Earlier, Lakovich expressed hope for lifting sanctions from Russian sports in 2025. He noted that he understands the feelings of Russians.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA in February 2022 removed Russian teams and clubs from participating in international competitions for an indefinite period. The Russian national team, including not allowed the draw for the selection for the 2026 World Cup.
