Johnson: Russia must be issued to those who have plans for the future in the country
The naturalized American boxer Kevin Johnson talked about who is worthy to obtain Russian citizenship. His words are given by RIA Novosti.
Johnson named the condition that those who want to get citizenship should comply. “I am sure 100 percent that before getting a Russian passport, a person should live in Russia for a long time or have plans for the future in the country. It would be right from all sides, ”he said.
Johnson received Russian citizenship in January 2024. Prior to this, the athlete replaced the name in honor of Russian President Vladimir Putin: now Kevin Vladimirovich will be called.
Earlier, the ex-defender of CSKA and the USSR national team Vladimir Ponomarev condemned the distribution of Russian citizenship to foreign players. In his opinion, this is pointless and reduced the value of citizenship of the Russian Federation.
