The closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris has begun
The closing ceremony of the XXXIII Summer Olympic Games has begun in Paris. This was reported by a correspondent of Lenta.ru.
The ceremony started at 22:00 Moscow time at the Stade de France stadium. The ceremony will include a parade of athletes and the transfer of the Olympic flag to the hosts of the next Summer Games. They will be held in 2028 in Los Angeles, USA.
Russian athletes missed the closing ceremony. 15 Russian athletes were allowed to participate by the International Olympic Committee, but left Paris after finishing their performances. The last one was rower Zakhar Petrov, but he also left the Olympic village.
The first competitions at the Paris Olympics began on July 26. Before that, the French capital hosted the Olympic Games in 1920 and 1924.
