Kool repeats sprint victory in second stage of Tour de France
Euskaraz irakurri: Kool berriro ere garaile sprintean, Frantziako Tourreko bigarren stagen
The Dutch cyclist Charlotte Kool and current leader of the race has won the second stage of the Tour de France The DSM team member once again proved to be the fastest in the peloton to claim her second consecutive stage win after the one she won on the opening day.
The route was conducive to the victory being decided in a sprint, and this was the case, despite several breakaway attempts and numerous falls that occurred during the stage. Finally, the arrival in Rotterdam witnessed a fight in which it seemed that Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx) was set to win, but in the final metres she was overtaken by her compatriot Kool. Another Dutchwoman came in third: Marianne Vos (Visma).
In this way, Kool remains at the top of the overall standings with a 14-second advantage over the Finn Anniina Ahtosalo (One X) and the already mentioned Wiebes.
The competition will continue this afternoon with the third stage, a short 6.3-kilometre time trial through Rotterdam.
