Asier Martínez has been left out of the 110-meter hurdles finalthis Wednesday afternoon, in the Paris 2024 Olympic GamesThe Navarrese athlete has been fifth in their semi-final serieswith a time of 13:35and has not had the option to continue in the Games and compete in the medal race.
Asier Martínez took part in the third and final semi-final. To qualify for the final, he had to achieve one of the first two positions in his series, or, if he was unable to do so, he had to achieve one of the two best times among all those recorded by the athletes who, in each semi-final, had not occupied first or second place.
Thus, Jamaican Orlando Bennett and American Daniel Roberts crossed the finish line first and second in Martínez’s series; in terms of time, the Navarrese, with his 13:35, did not improve on the 13:26 of Japanese Rachid Muratake, fourth in the first series, who was ultimately the one who set the bar for the time classification.
Asier Martínez thus concludes his participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
