Russian National Team Coach Rodionenko: Judges Inflated Biles’ Scores at 2024 Olympics
Senior coach of the Russian national gymnastics team Valentina Rodionenko assessed the performance of American Simone Biles at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
“Biles was judged unfairly, the judges gave her too many points, especially on the bars. With such an imperfect performance, Biles was given such a score that forgive me,” Rodionenko said. She called the level of women’s artistic gymnastics at the Olympics very low.
On August 1, Biles won the gold medal in the individual all-around at the 2024 Olympics. In four events (vault, pommel horse, floor exercise, and parallel bars), the athlete from the United States scored 59.131 points. Second place went to Rebeca Andrade from Brazil. Another American, Sunisa Lee, won the bronze medal.
Biles won her sixth Olympic gold in her career and her second at these Games. The American had previously won the team all-around as part of the US team.
