Usyk promised Ukrainian boxers prize money for medals at the 2024 Olympic Games
Ukrainian heavyweight boxer Oleksandr Usyk has promised his compatriots prize money for medals at the 2024 Olympic Games, according to coach Dmitry Sosnovsky, quoted by Reuters.
Sosnovsky noted that Usyk will pay the prize money from his personal funds. “First place will be 80 thousand dollars, second place – 70 thousand, bronze – 50 thousand,” the coach revealed the amounts announced by Usyk.

Usyk is the absolute world heavyweight boxing champion. He has won all 22 fights in the professional ring. In 2012, the Ukrainian became the Olympic champion in the weight category up to 91 kilograms.
The Olympic Games will last until August 11. The winners and runners-up will receive medals that contain a metal fragment taken from the Eiffel Tower.
