The golfer from Biscay, Jon Rahm and the defending champion, American Xander Schauffele, share with 199 total strokes (14 under par) in three rounds, the leadership of the men’s golf tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which ends this Sunday on the Le Golf National course.

Jon Rahm signed his second consecutive 66 (-5) this Saturday and has caught up with Xander Schauffele at the head of the tournament, who started the day tied with the Japanese Hideki Matsuyama and the British Tommy Fleetwood.

3X3 BASKETBALL:

The women’s team Spanish 3×3 basketball in which Bilbao native Gracia Alonso will play directly in the Olympic semi-finals next Monday. Spain lost to Germany (15-18) and had to wait for the results of the United States-China (14-12) and Australia-France, which had already been eliminated (16-18) to certify its direct passage to the semi-finals.

WATER POLO:

The Basque water polo player Alberto Munarriz has qualified for the quarter-finals with the Spanish national team and he has done it as Group leader. Spain beat Japan 23-8 the last match of the group stage. Munarriz has scored two goals.

HANDBALL:

The Spanish team lost against France (32-24) the match of the last day of group B. Spain was already eliminatedfailing to qualify for the quarter-finals. Therefore, the Basque Lysa Tchaptchet has said goodbye to the 2024 Olympic Games.

SOCCER:

The The Spanish football team has made it to the semi-finals of the Olympic Games after eliminating Colombia in the penalty shootout and, therefore, Basque players Irene Paredes and Lucía García will be fighting for medals.

Montse Tomé’s team has started the match losing 2-0 and has achieved the equalizer in the final stretch thanks to the Goals by Jenni Hermoso and Irene ParedesIn extra time, neither team was able to avoid the penalty shoot-out, where the Spanish team was more successful.
