This Sunday, Brazilian striker Savinho was presented as Manchester City’s new signing and promised to make history with the current English champions.
The player, who comes from Troyes in France, signed with City on a five-year deal after having a great season with Girona in Spain, where he played on loan. The transfer fee was 35 million euros (R$219 million at the current exchange rate).
“I’m really happy and honoured to be here. I can’t wait to put on the shirt and get on the pitch to show what I can do. What I want is to work hard with the coach and my teammates to be able to improve. I was very happy to have helped Girona qualify for the Champions League, now I’m focused on Manchester City,” said the Brazilian.

Under manager Pep Guardiola, the Citizens have won six of the last seven Premier League seasons. If there was any doubt about City’s hunger after so many titles, Savinho has promised to fuel the team’s fight for a second Champions League.
“This is a new page in history and I am very happy to play in the Champions League for Manchester City and continue what I achieved with Girona last season,” added the 20-year-old forward.
Savinho idolizes former City player Riyad Mahrez, which is why he chose the number 26 shirt, the same one the Algerian wore during his time at the club.
