The shirt of Basque Team Esther Briz will not be able to fight for the medals in the doubles rowing at the Paris 2024 Games, having finished in fifth place in the semi-final with her partner Aina Cid. Now, they will have to fight in the final B for one of the first two places to get a Olympic diploma.
Briz and Cidwho had already had to go through a play-off to qualify for the semi-finals, quickly fell behind. By the 500-metre mark, they were already 3.92 seconds behind the American boat, which had led for almost the entire race.
