Footballer Aleksey Miranchuk has joined American Atlanta United until 2027
Russian midfielder Aleksey Miranchuk has moved from the Italian Atalanta to the American Atlanta United. This was reported on the team’s website.
The agreement is valid until the 2027 season with an option to extend it for another year. Vice-president and technical director of the team Carlos Bocanegra called Miranchuk a player with attacking potential who will be able to create chances and score goals.
Thomas Zorn, former sports director of Moscow Lokomotiv, for which Miranchuk played, in an interview with Championat called the Russian’s contract one of the best in MLS. In his opinion, Atlanta is one of the most developed clubs in the USA.
Last season, Miranchuk won the Europa League with Atalanta. The Russian has played for Atalanta since the summer of 2020, when he signed a 4+1 contract with the team. He spent the 2022/2023 season on loan at Torino.
