The Real Madrid ambassador can become Enner Valencia’s coach in the Turkish team squad.
Fenerbahçe has not yet reached an agreement with Johachim Löw to take over the team. And according to the Turkish press, the club’s sports management is already considering two options. One of them is Roberto Carlos. The Real Madrid ambassador is the main alternative if contacts with the German Löw do not bear fruit.
Roberto Carlos, who is in Brazil for the Christmas holidays, will probably travel to Turkey on January 15 to watch the match between Antalyaspor and Fenerbahçe. The former Madrid defender is open to taking over a bench in Turkey again. This would be his third experience at the helm of an Ottoman club, after he managed Sivasspor from 2012 to the end of 2015 and subsequently coached Akhisarspor for six months.
If he were to accept the Turks’ proposal, Roberto Carlos will become technical director of the Ecuadorian national team striker Enner Valencia, who until December 20 had been absent for seven weeks due to an injury he had suffered since October.
The third option that Fenerbahçe manages for DT is Alex de Souza. The Turkish club has also contacted the former captain of the team in order to find out his willingness to take charge of the Ottoman bench. (D)
