Team USA Takes Second Place at 2024 Paris Olympics
The second day of the 2024 Olympic Games has ended in Paris, with the Australian team continuing to lead the medal count, a Lenta.ru correspondent reports.
A total of 13 sets of awards were contested. Australian athletes won one gold medal: Jessica Fox won the women’s slalom canoe singles. The US team came in second, winning three gold, six silver and one bronze medal. The French came in third with three gold, two silver and two bronze medals.
On the second day of competition, Russians were represented only in tennis. Five athletes played in the first round of singles, and two more in doubles.
The 2024 Olympics are taking place in Paris from July 26 to August 11. Russians and Belarusians have been admitted to the Games as individual neutral athletes. A total of 15 Russian athletes will compete in the French capital.
