IOC apologizes for certain moments in Olympic opening ceremony

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has apologized for certain events at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Games in Paris, the organization’s website reported.

The IOC said it welcomed the clarifications provided by the Paris Organising Committee regarding the event. It was noted that there was no intention of disrespect towards any religious group. The purpose of the opening ceremony was to celebrate community and tolerance. The organising committee stressed that if anyone was offended by certain scenes, it was completely unintentional and they are very sorry.

The opening ceremony of the Games took place on July 26. Greek media called it the collapse of civilization because transvestites were portraying the Last Supper. The event was also criticized by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. American billionaire Elon Musk expressed a similar opinion.
