Akron beat Fakel 2-0 in RPL match
Tolyatti’s Akron won against Voronezh’s Fakel in the second round of the Russian Premier League (RPL), a Lenta.ru correspondent reports.
The meeting took place on Saturday, July 27, in Voronezh at the Central Trade Union Stadium and ended with a score of 2:0 in favor of the guests. In the 64th minute, the first goal was scored by striker Ivan Timoshenko. In the 76th minute, midfielder Soltmurad Bakayev increased the team’s advantage. This is Akron’s first victory in the RPL.
Last season, Fakel was in 11th place in the RPL standings. Akron is a debutant in the RPL. Last season, the Togliatti team played in the First Division and won a ticket to the elite in the play-off matches.
In the next round, Fakel will host Krasnodar on August 4. Akron will also play Dynamo Moscow at home the day before.
