The bishops did not name specific scenes from the ceremony. Overall, the event was described as “wonderful moments of beauty, joy, rich in emotion and universal recognition.”

The opening ceremony took place on July 26 on the Seine. Greek media called it the collapse of civilization, as transgender people were portraying the Last Supper.

The event was also criticized by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova. American billionaire Elon Musk expressed a similar opinion. Honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Tatyana Tarasova, on the contrary, called the ceremony wonderful.
