Vyacheslav Datsik suggested Alexander Emelianenko to hold a rematch in Mariupol
Russian mixed martial artist (MMA) Vyacheslav Datsik has offered his compatriot Alexander Emelianenko a venue for a rematch. Datsik’s team told TASS about this.
The athlete wants to arrange a fight in Mariupol. What his opponent thinks about this is not specified.
In May, Datsik was defeated by Irishman Sean Turner in a boxing match. Before the fight, Emelianenko approached him. “You’ll be knocked out, you’ll sleep. There’ll be no point in me fighting you, a beaten dog,” the Russian said.
On April 1, the Ural FC fighting promotion cancelled the Emelianenko-Datsik rematch tournament for technical reasons. The fight was supposed to take place in Moscow on April 12.
The athletes had their first fight in September 2022 under boxing rules. Datsik knocked out his opponent in the first round.
