Terrorist alert declared at 2024 Olympic stadium Parc des Princes
A terrorist alert has been declared at the Parc des Princes stadium, where the 2024 Olympic Games football tournament will start on July 24, Bild reports.
As the source has learned, the suspicious bag was found between the Roland Garros tennis court and the stadium. Because of this, the surrounding streets were cordoned off by police, and bus traffic, including Olympic shuttles, was stopped in the area.
At 15:00 local time, the stadium is set to host the first competition of the Olympics – a group stage game of the football tournament between Spain and Uzbekistan. At 21:00, a match between Mali and Israel is also scheduled there. Due to Israel’s participation, security measures have been tightened to the maximum.
The opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics will take place on July 26. The Games will end on August 11.
