Enforcement proceedings initiated against Nurmagomedov due to debts
Enforcement proceedings have been initiated against former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) champion Khabib Nurmagomedov due to debts. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the database of the Federal Bailiff Service of the Russian Federation.
The case was opened due to the athlete’s tax debts totaling more than 79.3 million rubles. According to the Telegram channel Mash, bailiffs have launched a search for Nurmagomedov’s property for subsequent seizure and sale.
On May 11, Mash reported that Nurmagomedov owed the Federal Tax Service 306.2 million rubles. It was noted that the accounts of the Eagle FC fighting league and the charity fund associated with him were blocked. At the same time, the former fighter’s team called the information about the debt inaccurate.
Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring in 2020. In total, the athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional mixed martial arts fights. After retiring from competition, Nurmagomedov took up coaching.
