The “Match of the Year” between teams made up of Russian stars from the National Hockey League (NHL) and the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) has ended in Moscow. The broadcast was on the Match TV website.
The meeting took place at the CSKA Arena stadium and ended in a draw with a score of 8:8. The NHL players scored Alexander Ovechkin, Dmitry Voronkov (two goals), Andrei Svechnikov, Evgeni Malkin, Artemy Panarin, Vasily Podkolzin and Pavel Buchnevich. The KHL players scored Anton Burdasov, Nikolay Goldobin (two goals), Anatoly Golyshev, Vladimir Tkachev, Pavel Poryadin (two goals) and Sergei Tolchinsky.
Before the match, Ovechkin greeted those present in the locker room. The Russian brought several sticks with him.
The bulk of the proceeds from the event will go to charity.
