In a friendly, Porto concedes a goal from a Brazilian, but defeats Austria Vienna

On Friday afternoon, in a friendly match, Porto visited Austria Vienna at the Generali Arena and won 3-1. André Franco, Gonçalo Borges and Nico González scored for the visitors, while Brazilian defender Lucas Galvão reduced the deficit for the home team.

Porto will return to action next Tuesday at 2pm (Brasília time) when they visit Sturm, also from Austria, at the UPC-Arena for another friendly. On Thursday, Austria Vienna will visit IIlves at 1pm for the second qualifying round of the Conference League.

Porto opened the scoring just ten minutes into the first half. Fran Navarro controlled a ball that had been rebounded by the defender in the area and crossed to the far post. André Franco rose higher than the defender and scored the first goal of the match.

In the 47th minute of the first half, Austria Vienna equalized. After a corner kick taken by Fitz from the right, Brazilian Lucas Galvão headed the ball into the left corner of goalkeeper Samuel’s goal to make it all even.

Porto regained the lead in the 29th minute of the second half. Striker Gonçalo Borges took control on the wing, cut through the marking and scored a great goal with a three-finger shot into the left corner.

At 36 minutes into the second half, Porto scored their third and final goal. Gonçalo Borges received the ball again on the wing, but this time he crossed to Nico González, who got away from his marker and managed to finish with a header.

Ajax x Olympiacos

In another friendly, Ajax hosted Olympiacos at the Johan Cruijff Arena and won 1-0. The Dutch team’s goal was scored by Carlos Borges.

Nottingham Forest x Sunderland

In the third and final duel, Nottingham Forest hosted Sunderland at the City Ground and drew 1-1. Omar scored for the home team, while Clarke equalized for the away team.
