To sign for Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé had to cut his salary by more than half, compared to what he was receiving as a player at PSG. The personal terms had been agreed a few months ago, but the player already knew that the pay he was receiving at the French club was unrealistic compared to the standards of the vast majority of other European clubs, including the current Champions League champions.
According to the Spanish newspaper ASMbappé received 72 million euros (around R$438 million) without bonuses, during his last season with PSG. In Spain, the French star will have an annual income of 15 million euros (R$91 million) net, until 2029, equaling Alaba and Bellingham, the highest paid players in the squad.

Another factor that should not be part of Mbappé’s relationship with Real Madrid is the exorbitant renewal fees. In 2022, the Parisians granted him a renewal bonus of 180 million euros (R$1.09 billion), something completely unrealistic in La Liga.
Despite not coming close to these figures, Real Madrid gave a large signing bonus for Mbappé. The player was a free agent, so the Merengue team did not have to pay any amount to PSG for his signing.
On Tuesday, the striker was announced to more than 85,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabéu. He did not hide his emotion upon being announced. “I am very happy and proud to be a player for the club of my dreams and the greatest club in the history of football. I won’t say any more because I will start crying. Hala Madrid!” he said.
