Argentina’s Vice President Villarruel Supports Fernandez Accused of Racism
Argentina’s Vice President Victoria Villarruel has supported national team player Enzo Fernandez, who has been accused of racism, on her page on the social network X.
She noted that Argentina is a free country that has never had colonies or second-class citizens. “No colonial country will intimidate us for a song or for telling the truth that they do not want to admit. Stop pretending to be indignant, hypocrites. Enzo, I support you,” the politician wrote.
Earlier, during the celebration of the Copa America victory, the Argentines sang a song on the bus mocking the African origins of the French national team players. A fragment of it was broadcast live on social media by Fernandez.
It later became known that the French Football Federation (FFF) would file a complaint against the Argentines with the International Football Federation (FIFA).
