Foreign footballer escapes Russian club

Moroccan footballer Yahya Attiat-Alla has fled Sochi and gone to Istanbul

Moroccan defender Yahya Attiat-Alla has fled from the Russian football club Sochi. Deputy General Director for Team Development Andrei Orlov told Sport-Express.

Orlov said that the footballer disappeared after training in St. Petersburg, claiming that he had contracted the coronavirus. At the moment, Attiat-Alla is in Istanbul and is going to sign a contract with the Egyptian Al-Ahly.

Attiat-Alla has been playing for the Sochi club since February 2024. In the 2023/2024 season, the defender played 11 matches for Sochi, scoring one goal and making three assists. Previously, the footballer played for the Moroccan Wydad and Safi, as well as the Greek Volos.

Last summer, Norwegian midfielder Mathias Normann sent notices to Rostov and Dynamo Moscow to terminate his contract due to drones crashing into the Moscow City building. Then, citing these circumstances, the legionnaire fled the country.
