Kuznetsov’s return from the NHL to Russia denied

Agent Babaev denied information about Kuznetsov signing a contract with SKA

Agent Shumi Babayev, who represents the interests of Carolina Hurricanes forward Evgeny Kuznetsov, commented on the information about the player’s return to Russia and signing a contract with SKA. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Babayev stated that the information was not true. “There have been no negotiations with SKA yet,” he emphasized.

In March, Kuznetsov was traded to Carolina from the Washington Capitals. He played 63 games with the team, scoring 24 points. His contract with Carolina runs until the end of the 2024/2025 season.

In late 2023, Kuznetsov entered the NHL Player Assistance Program. The program works with hockey players suffering from psychological problems, as well as alcohol or drug addiction. In 2019, Kuznetsov was disqualified for using cocaine.
