The sprinters’ teams will therefore try to control a stage that could also be used by the adventurers, in search of a successful breakaway.
Whoever takes the podium in Barcelonnette as the stage winner will have added a prestigious victory to his list of achievements, with all the riders’ strength already very much reduced after almost three weeks of the Tour.
