Xabi Barandika and Imanol López have won the 2024 Markina-Xemein Grand Slamthis Tuesday, by defeating in the final of the championship, held at the University of Markina, to Jean Olharan and Ion Ibarluzea, in two sets, 15-7 and 15-8.
The superiority of the Gernika-Lumo striker and the Zumaia defender was evident in the match for the txapelas. Barandika and López took charge from the start and put in a very solid performance, with hardly any mistakes and showing a high level on the court of the Biscayan town.
The champions have thus donned their Grand Slam txapelas in the midst of a great atmosphere, as the Uni has registered an excellent turnout on a big, festive day.
