UEFA includes Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal in symbolic team of Euro 2024
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has named the symbolic team for the 2024 European Championship, which was held in Germany, on its website.
The organization’s representatives took the 4-3-3 scheme as a basis. The largest number of players were delegated to the team by the Spanish national team: the attacking position was taken by Nico Williams and Lamin Yamal, the midfield trio consisted of Dani Olmo, Rodri and Fabian Ruiz, and the position of the extreme left defender was given to Marc Cucurella.
In addition to the Spaniards, the symbolic team included the goalkeeper of the French team Mike Maignan, defenders Kyle Walker (England), William Saliba (France), Manuel Akanji (Switzerland), and also the forward of the German team Jamal Musiala.
The European Championship was held in Germany from June 14 to July 14. In the final, the Spanish team defeated England with a score of 2:1. The Spanish team won all seven matches in the tournament, only one victory – in the 1/4 finals over Germany – was achieved in overtime.
For the Spanish national team, the victory at the current Euro was the fourth in history. In this indicator, the team surpassed Germany, which has three titles to its credit.
