Polish jumpers failed again. Disappointment before the 4-Hills-Tournament

Polish jumpers have not had such a dramatically poor season in the second league for a long time. On Monday in Engelberg, four of them advanced to the second round of the competition, but almost all of them finished in the third ten. Noteworthy is the performance, which moved up eight positions in the second series and was classified in 16th place.

Poor form of the base of Polish ski jumping. Bad news for Doleżal

In the third ten, 24th Aleksander Zniszczoł, 25th Maciej Kot and 28th Kacper Juroszek completed the PK competition in Switzerland. For the latter, these are the first points in this competition category from February 16, 2020. Our other players did not manage to advance to the top 30. Among them was Klemens, whom many said before the start of the season that he could be a world-class player. On Monday he finished in 42nd place, because he jumped only 111.5 m. Jan Habdas was 35th and Arkadiusz Jojko was only 54th.

In recent seasons we could get used to the fact that Polish jumpers competing in the Continental Cup are fighting for an additional place at the World Cup. A year ago, Jakub Wolny won in Engelberg once, and he was eighth. The next day, they were both in the top ten. This season, however, our players are far from being in such a position. So far, none of them has stood on the podium, and Stefan Hula was the highest during the competition in Vikersund. The 35-year-old was seventh.

This form of support for the World Cup staff is bad news for. If any of the six in the 70’s do not fare well, it will be difficult to replace them. And if we look at the results of the pre-Christmas Polish championship, we can see that Stefan Hula and Klemens Murańka did not lose much to Dawid or Jakub Wolny, who went to Oberstdorf. The only question is whether Hula and Murańka on Monday presented themselves in the same style as in the national yard in Zakopane. If so, you may be concerned about the form of Kubacki and Wolny.

The 70th edition of the 4-Hills-Tournament will start on Tuesday in Germany. Individual competitions will be broadcast by TVN and Eurosport 1. The qualifications, in turn, will also be available for viewing in Eurosport.
