Spectators boo tennis player Djokovic after winning the semi-finals of Wimbledon 2024
Spectators booed Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic after his victory in the semifinals of the 2024 Wimbledon tournament in London, as reported by the “Championship” newspaper.
After winning the semi-final match against Italian Lorenzo Musetti, the athlete imitated playing the violin, which caused discontent among the audience. It is noted that the tennis player had used such a gesture before, explaining it by his support for his daughter Tara, who plays the violin.
Djokovic defeated Musetti in the Wimbledon semifinals on July 12. The match lasted two hours and 51 minutes and ended with a score of 6:4, 7:6 (7:2), 6:4 in favor of the Serb.
In the final, Djokovic will face Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, who defeated Russian Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals. Alcaraz is the world’s third-ranked player and the current Wimbledon champion. Djokovic is ranked second by the Association of Tennis Professionals.
